FarFrom is a distance telemetry instrument that calculates and displays your real-time distance to objects across the solar system and beyond — from your nearest coastline to the edge of the observable universe.

We built FarFrom with privacy as a core principle. The app requires minimal data to function and never shares your personal information with third parties. Depending on the platform and version of FarFrom you are using, the app may or may not display advertisements as described in this policy.

Your GPS coordinates are used to calculate precise distances to astronomical objects, determine your nearest coastline and antipodal point, orient the AR sky scanner, and calculate local sunrise/sunset times. Location data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Camera access is used exclusively for the SKY_OBJECT_SCANNER AR mode, which overlays real-time telemetry labels on your camera view. Camera data is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. The camera is only active when you explicitly engage the AR scanner.

Device motion sensors (gyroscope, accelerometer, rotation vector) are used to orient the AR sky scanner based on where you are pointing your device. This data is processed in real-time on your device only.

FarFrom makes network requests to fetch the live position of the International Space Station from a public API (wheretheiss.at). On platforms where advertising is enabled, network access is also used to load advertisements via Google AdMob. No personal location or identity data is transmitted in these requests.

On certain platforms and versions of FarFrom, the app displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. On platforms where no advertising is implemented (such as Huawei AppGallery), no advertising data is collected.

Opting out does not remove ads — it means ads shown will not be based on your interests.

FarFrom uses the following external services:

Provides real-time geographic position of the International Space Station. No personal data is transmitted.

Provides advertising on platforms where ads are enabled. Subject to Google's privacy policy. Not active on all versions of FarFrom.

FarFrom does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app collects no personal data from any user regardless of age. FarFrom is suitable as an educational astronomy instrument for all ages. On platforms where advertising is active, ad content rating settings are applied in accordance with the platform's age rating requirements.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of FarFrom after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
